Your welcome to the team will begin with two initial 18-month assignments which seek to build on your skills and experience and give you real responsibility and development from the very first day.

    Current role: Marketing Specialist

    My current role in Ford is as a Marketing specialist in the Wholesale and Collision business unit within Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD). I have learned greatly from this role, and it has been a great change of pace from my first placement within Ford of Europe Marketing Communications. In my current role, I am a lot closer to the front lines as it were, and have gained a much better understanding of how the business works at the Dealer level. I have learned greatly about the intricacies of the aftersales business unit and of its vital importance for the success of Ford Motor Company as a whole.

    I have worked on many exciting projects since beginning my career at Ford Motor Company, having worked first in Ford of Europe in the Marketing Communications team working on Product training, events and later managing small car brochures, and now working in Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) focusing on parts sales and the collision repair network. 

    If I were to choose one project to single out as being the most memorable, I would have to say it was working on the huge ‘Go Further’ event in 2012, where Ford had representatives from all of our Dealers Europe-wide, as well as press representatives, attend an event to unveil our latest products. As well as offering support in terms of planning of the event, I was specifically responsible for the live streaming of the event, which was to be broadcast to our Dealer network Europe-wide as well as to employees and customers around the globe. The project was very complex, and we ran into numerous issues and problems along the way, but when the event was completed, and all went well with the streaming and having far exceeded our goal of 100K viewers, it was a very rewarding experience indeed. I was also fortunate enough to be able to travel to Amsterdam to see the event live, which was again a fantastic experience.

    I would highly recommend Ford Motor Company to any Graduates looking for an exciting and rewarding career. The motor industry is an incredibly varied and interesting one, and where better to work in the industry than at one of the most established, and largest motor companies of all, Ford. Since joining Ford in January of 2012, I have been involved in and managed such a broad variety of projects and have worked with incredible people. I can certainly say that I could not have asked for a better start to my career than what I have experienced so far at Ford.

    Current role: Zone Manager

    Since joining Ford as a graduate, I have had three very different but exciting roles. I started within the Ford of Europe Marketing Communications department, which is one of the most dynamic areas in the company. I was actively involved in the creation and implementation of communications campaigns - working on TV and photography shoots – as well as planning for exciting future product launches. The role was no ordinary graduate position and you were encouraged to take responsibility on tasks and have input in to important decisions being made. It was challenging and highly rewarding – no one day was ever the same. Being in a European role gave me the chance to travel, with trips to our offices in Cologne and the exciting possibility of working abroad later on in your career. I also spent time with our creative agencies in London, which incorporated an external facing element in to the role and gave me the opportunity to experience innovative new communication concepts on a daily basis.

    My second Graduate rotation was within Sales Planning and Analysis where I was responsible for developing and programming the Sales Plan for Ford of Britain and setting Internal and Dealer Objectives to enable us to achieve our monthly share aspirations. This role utilised a completely different set of skills and gave me an invaluable understanding of how Ford works operationally as a company. 

    I have now completed my Graduate rotation and am currently working as a Car and Commercial Vehicle Zone Manager within Ford of Britain. Within this role, I work together closely with our Ford Dealers to achieve our joint objectives of selling our fantastic product and growing the business, as well as, enhancing the consumer experience for our customers. The Ford Graduate Programme gave me the perfect combination of experience and level of responsibility required to enable me to perform this role effectively and has given me a fantastic base in which I can progress in my career within Ford.
