DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS

ADVANCED SAFETY. ADVANCED COMFORT.

With busy roads and so many distractions, we could all use some help to make our journeys easier. This is why our researchers, designers and engineers are shaping the future of mobility with driver assistance systems, including spearheading automated driving with Ford BlueCruise.

Features shown may be optional or available on selected models/vehicles.

INTELLIGENT ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

For less stress when driving in heavy traffic. Simply set your desired cruising speed, and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go automatically maintains a pre-set distance from the vehicle in front, bringing your car to a stop if necessary. Once the traffic ahead clears, the system accelerates back to your chosen speed.

LANE-KEEPING ASSISTANCE

Forward-looking cameras can detect if you unintentionally drift out of your lane. The system then alerts you by vibrating the steering wheel, and can even provide gentle steering assistance to help guide you back into the right lane. The Lane-Keeping System is designed for multi-lane roads – it automatically deactivates below 43mph, or can be turned-off manually.

HILL START ASSIST

Hill Start Assist gives you extra control when starting on a slope. The system works by maintaining pressure to the brakes for an extra 2.5 seconds, to temporarily stop you rolling backwards (or forwards) while your foot moves from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.

AUTO START-STOP

When you stop at red lights or in heavy traffic, Auto Start-Stop can automatically switch off the engine while still supplying power to essential systems, like the headlights, air-conditioning and Ford SYNC. When you're ready to move again, just depress the clutch (or press the accelerator for an automatic), and the engine restarts.

10-WAY ADJUSTABLE SEATS

Designed to increase comfort and reduce fatigue with ten separate adjustments and active motion massage. The seats feature eleven moving cushions arranged to provide extra support and, when needed, give you a gentle massage. Enough to relax but not distract.

BLIND SPOT INFORMATION SYSTEM

Blind Spot Information (BLIS) uses sensors to look for vehicles hidden in your blind spot. If another vehicle is detected, the system alerts you via discreet warning lights built into both door mirrors. Cross Traffic Alert (part of BLIS) helps when reversing out of spaces with limited visibility by sounding an alert if it detects vehicles approaching from the sides.

TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION

Traffic Sign Recognition is designed to detect road signs, whether permanent or temporary, located at the side or above the road. It then displays the sign’s information – including speed limits – on your instrument cluster.

PRE-COLLISION ASSIST

Pre-Collision Assist uses a camera to scan the road ahead and warn you if it detects a potential collision with a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist. If you don’t respond to the warning in time, the system can automatically apply up to full braking force to help reduce the severity of, or even eliminate, some frontal collisions.

eCALL

The eCall system uses your vehicle’s sensors to detect when an accident occurs and automatically dials the emergency number via the communication system. It provides first responders with your location, the time of the incident, plus your vehicle’s make and model to enable a quicker emergency response.

360° CAMERA

Helping you be more aware of your surroundings, several cameras display a comprehensive view of the area around you via the SYNC screen.

REVERSE BRAKE ASSIST

Reverse with confidence. Reverse Brake Assist includes Reverse Automatic Braking, which uses sensors and cameras to detect stationary objects behind your car. If a collision is imminent, it can automatically apply the brakes, adding protection in tight or busy spaces.

EASIER PARKING

FRONT WIDE-VIEW CAMERA

The Front Wide-View camera gives you extra visibility on the road. A small panoramic camera on the front of your car, it relays a split-screen view to your multi-functional display, allowing you to see vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians approaching from either side.

QUICKCLEAR HEATED WINDSCREEN

Gets your windscreen cleared fast on frosty mornings. Thin filaments heat your windscreen to de-ice, de-fog and de-mist the glass in seconds, as well as help defrost the wiper blades.

SAFER HANDLING

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL

Using sensors from the anti-lock braking and traction control systems. The Electronic Stability Control system senses when your vehicle is losing grip and automatically applies a braking pulse to individual wheels to help stabilise it.

ROLL STABILITY CONTROL

Roll Stability Control continually monitors your car and driving conditions. If there is a dangerous situation that could cause the vehicle to roll over, the system kicks in. It triggers Electronic Stability Control to intervene, control the car’s speed, and restore stability.

TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM

An early warning if a tyre is going flat. Detects when tyres are starting to lose pressure and warns you via the instrument panel. You can also get alerts via the FordPass App, monitoring tyre pressure, washer fluid and lots more.
