DRIVING EXPERIENCE

INTELLIGENT LED HEADLIGHTS

Optional Matrix LED headlights, with integrated fog lamps and signature daytime running lights, deliver outstanding visibility with eye-catching design. The adaptive front lighting system optimises your Focus’s headlight beam patterns to suit specific driving conditions. Such as for motorway, city, or country road driving, as well as parking and cornering manoeuvres.

DIGITAL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

The Focus’s 12.3" digital instrument cluster displays driver information in high definition using intuitive, easy-to-read icons. You can prioritise which information is displayed, including navigation alerts, as well as programme the preferred pre-sets of individual drivers.

BLIND SPOT INFORMATION

This system uses lateral sensors to look for vehicles hidden in your blind spot, even when towing a trailer. If another vehicle is detected, the system alerts you via warning lights built into both door mirrors.

LANE-KEEPING SYSTEM

Forward-looking cameras detect if you unintentionally drift out of your lane. The system then alerts you by vibrating the steering wheel and can even provide gentle steering assistance to guide you back into the right lane. Designed for multi-lane roads. This automatically deactivates below 40 miles or can be turned-off manually.

CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT

Helping to increase awareness when reversing out of spaces with limited visibility. The system detects if a vehicle is approaching from the sides, then sound a warning and illuminates an alert light in the Focus door mirror to signal you of their presence.

FORD CO-PILOT 360

Ford Co-Pilot360 combines a range of technologies that work together, to make your driving experience more comfortable and enjoyable than ever. For example, Adaptive Cruise Control automatically adjusts your speed based on the vehicle ahead. The system can even recognise speed signs and adjust your cruising speed accordingly.

SELECTABLE DRIVE MODES

Selectable drive modes alter vehicle settings such as throttle response, steering, and gear-change to match driving conditions. Focus features 5 different drive modes: Normal, ECO, Sport, Slippery and Trail^{Focus Active slippery and trail}. Key information is displayed via the digital instrument cluster which changes colour theme according to the drive mode selected.

ACTIVE PARK ASSIST

Parking in a busy street or a tight space can be tricky. But Active Park Assist in the Focus makes it easy. The system can identify suitable parking spaces, and then automatically steer you in. All you need to do is push the button and let the car do the work for you.

HEAD-UP DISPLAY

Head-Up display projects key information into your field of vision, so you can stay informed without having to glance down at the dashboard. You can also customise the colour display settings to your preferences.

ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE

An electric parking brake helps to declutter the cabin, is easier to apply, and means you won’t need to have the brakes serviced as regularly. To apply, simply press a button in the Focus centre console.

REAR-VIEW CAMERA

The Focus's rear camera is activated automatically when you select reverse gear, revealing what’s behind you on the display screen. The system also displays virtual lines to help you with parking^{Rear-view camera}.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL WITH STOP & GO

The Focus’s Adaptive Cruise Control makes driving easy in heavy traffic. Simply set your desired cruising speed, and the system automatically maintains a pre-set distance from the vehicle in front, bringing your car to a stop if necessary. Once the traffic ahead clears, the system accelerates back to your chosen speed. Available on automatic transmission.

TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION WITH INTELLIGENT SPEED ASSIST

The Traffic Sign Recognition system scans traffic signs and road markings to identify the current speed limit, and if activated can then adjust your maximum speed setting to match this limit.

DRIVER ALERT

The system alerts you if it detects changes to your driving behaviour that could be due to fatigue. If your driving alertness further declines, the visual alert is repeated combined with an audible chime.

EVASIVE STEER ASSIST

Focus’s Evasive Steer Assist system uses radar and a camera technology to detect slower-moving and stationary vehicles ahead, then provides steering support to help you avoid another vehicle if a collision is imminent.

HILL START ASSIST

Hill Start Assist provides extra control when starting on a slope by maintaining pressure to the brakes for an extra 2.5 seconds. Helping to keep you from rolling downhill while your foot moves between the brake pedal and accelerator.

INTERSECTION ASSIST

Detects vehicles driving in an oncoming direction and can apply brakes if you are attempting to cross the oncoming vehicle’s path. Intersection Assist automatically deactivates above 18 miles or can be turned-off manually.

ENGINES & TRANSMISSIONS

FOCUS MILD HYBRID

The Focus EcoBoost Hybrid is a mild hybrid car that uses a 48-volt, battery-powered electric motor to help support the engine, improve efficiency, and reduce emissions^{Non-hybrid comparison}. Focus mild hybrid powertrain delivers an extra 16 PS and up to 20% better acceleration. Regenerative braking charges the MHEV's battery while driving, so there’s no need to plug-in to an external power source.

POWERSHIFT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Focus EcoBoost Hybrid is available with an optional Powershift-Automatic dual clutch transmission^{Focus EcoBoost Hybrid Powershift} (DCT). This 7-speed automatic transmission is precision engineered with a greater number of gear ratios, low-weight design, and advanced dual-clutch operation – all working to deliver smooth, seamless gear changes for a less demanding, more efficient drive.

The Focus 1.0 litre Ford EcoBoost 3-cylinder petrol engine delivers performance that’s smooth, responsive, and rewarding.

PADDLE GEAR SHIFTERS

Sports-inspired, steering wheel-mounted gear shift paddles put swift, seamless and easy gear changes at your fingertips. Available with the Ford Focus on ST automatic models.

MANUAL TRANSMISSION

The Ford Focus 6-speed manual transmission has been optimised to make gear selection easier, more precise, and quieter. It’s specially engineered to improve driving dynamics and reduce fuel consumption too.

ESTATE LOAD COMPARTMENT

Focus Estate's load floor has improved illumination, easy to clean trims, and features a vertical divider with hinged design for an adjustable storage space. A wet storage zone with rubber floor mat^{Focus Wagon Load Floor} lets you transport wet or muddy items separately.

HANDS-FREE TAILGATE

If you have your hands full, simply wave your foot beneath the rear bumper. Your Focus Estate will detect your key fob and the tailgate will automatically open or close.

PANORAMA ROOF

An electrically operated panorama roof lets you enjoy the surrounding scenery. The two-way adjustable roof can either be tilted or fully retracted. Solar reflective glass helps keep the interior cool and comfortable. While an electrically operated blind lets you cover or reveal the roof at the press of a button.

18-WAY ADJUSTABLE FRONT SEATS

The Ford Focus front seats are ergonomically designed to give the best possible support. You can move seats up, down, forwards, backwards, and tilt; as well as adjust the base cushion length, seat back and a 4-way lumbar support.

PRE-COLLISION ASSIST WITH PEDESTRIAN DETECTION

The Pre-Collision Assist system scans for potential collision hazards with pedestrians and other vehicles up to 130 metres ahead and alerts you of their presence. If you don’t respond, it automatically applies the brakes. This technology is designed to help reduce the severity of accidents or can help avoid them altogether. ^{Focus Pedestrian Detection}

AUTONOMOUS EMERGENCY BRAKING

A camera scans the road ahead and the system then warns you if it detects a collision is likely. If you don’t react, it can apply the brakes for you.

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL

Electronic Stability Control constantly monitors your car's progress. It senses when a vehicle is losing grip and automatically applies a braking pulse to individual wheels to help stabilise it.

Euro NCAP is Europe’s leading independent safety organisation. It evaluates the safety of any vehicle using a series of stringent measures. As a measure of Ford’s commitment to safety, Focus has received the highest rating of 5 stars.

TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING

Detects when tyres are starting to lose pressure and warns you via the instrument panel. You can also get alerts via the FordPass App, monitoring tyre pressure, washer fluid and lots more.

FORD SECURE

SYNC 4 Cloud connectivity allows your Focus to utilise its onboard modem to provide a fully integrated theft recovery system.
