Style with substance
With its angled front and sculpted jewel-like headlights, the Galaxy has a beautifully sleek profile. The lower stance gives it a more aerodynamic shape, while there are stylish touches including the chrome-finish door handle inserts, upper door trim strip and bright-finish front scuff plates..
Halogen Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS)
With AFS, cornering lights swivel to the left or right by up to 15˚ according to your speed and the angle of the steering wheel. So, as you turn the wheel, the dipped lights swivel to illuminate the road as you take the corner. This boosts forward visibility through bends and creates a safer driving environment. Integrated cornering lights are activated when you turn the steering wheel 30°. These give even more light on sharper bends, to help you avoid any potential problems around the next corner.
Bi-Xenon headlights with AFS
If you do a lot of driving at night, or in poor weather, these headlights are ideal, generating an extremely bright light but consuming less energy and with a longer service life than conventional halogen bulbs. They also light up a longer and wider angle than standard halogen bulbs.
Awards and accolades
The Galaxy has been picking up awards since its original launch. For example, Euro NCAP recently awarded it a maximum 5-star rating and 35 points for Adult Occupant Safety. And there’s more: the Galaxy was the MPV winner of the Business Car Magazine Awards 2008, while the British Insurance Car Security Awards granted the Galaxy second place in its large MPV category.

We are always striving to improve what we do and the way we do it. In the face of climate change – a global challenge – our drive and pace of innovation has never been so important.
That’s why we are developing a number of technological advances that will combine to provide significant reductions in CO2 output. The Galaxy uses low-viscosity transmission oil developed by our fuel partner, BP. Our Flexifuel engines offer a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions by running on either bioethanol E85 or normal unleaded petrol – or any mixture of the two.
Our 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi engines with a diesel particulate filter (DPF), offer a choice of two power outputs, manual or automatic, with the manual engine emitting 159 g/km of CO2.
