Performance & Efficiency

Transit Connect features a new range of advanced petrol and diesel engines. Each already meets strict Euro 6 Emissions legislation. A new 1.5 litre TDCi diesel engine offers three power outputs with improved fuel economy and lower emissions than the previous 1.6 litre engines. More power. Lower emissions. And cheaper running costs. What’s not to love?

Features shown on this page may only be available on selected models. Where available, these features may be optional extras at additional cost. For more info, download price list to view current UK specifications.

Get the most out of your engine

The innovative 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Ford EcoBoost petrol engine gives you all the power you’d expect from a conventional 1.6-litre engine (up to 100PS) whilst delivering around 24% better fuel economy and 25% lower CO2 emissions at just 129g/km. No wonder Ford EcoBoost has been awarded International Engine of the Year for the sub 1.0-litre category for a record five years in succession.

Powerful new 1.5L Duratorq TDCi engines

If you prefer to run diesel, you have the choice of three highly efficient 1.5 litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engines (75PS, 100PS or 120PS), with manual or ‘Powershift’ automatic transmission options. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions on the 100PS model start from as low as 72.4mpg (3.9L/100 km) and 103g/km.

Use less fuel with Auto-Start-Stop

When you stop at traffic lights or your vehicle is idling in a queue, this technology can automatically switch off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the headlights, air-conditioning, radio and the Ford SYNC system). When you're ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, or press the accelerator on an automatic, and the system restarts. Auto-Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% (urban cycle).

Acceleration Control helps you drive more economically

This innovative option controls the rate of acceleration according to whether your vehicle is un-laden or part-laden. As a result, you can expect to lower your fuel consumption by up to 15%, depending on your driving style. The technology can also help reduce the amount of wear and tear on the engine, brakes and tyres, along with other components.

Helping you drive more efficiently

The innovative Ford Eco Mode system continually assesses the effects of your driving behaviour on your fuel consumption. The system analyses your speed, gear shifting, braking and anticipation levels, plus the number of short and long journeys you make.
