I competed for GB from 1996 through to 2013. Sport has shaped my life. As a Paralympic sprinter, I had the privilege of representing Great Britain on the world stage which is something that gave me not just incredible experiences, but also confidence & independence. That’s why becoming a Ford Motability Ambassador means so much to me.

After retiring from elite sport & becoming a mum, my perspective deepened even further. I saw just how important it is for everyone to feel included & to have their independence. That’s what led me, after retiring, to set up & run the Superhero Series - the UK’s only mass-participation sports series for people with disabilities, their families & friends. 2026 will be the 10th year for this.

Working with Ford supports my belief that everyone should be included & live as independently as possible. This starts with the basic things like being able to leave your house, travel independently, & feel confident getting to where you want to be all the way through to having access to sport.

The Motability Scheme is about freedom, independence & choice. It enables people to live their lives on their own terms, whether that’s getting to work, taking children to school, seeing friends, or being able to take part in something like the Superhero Series.

I see first-hand how transformative that independence can be. When you remove the barrier of access you open up a whole world of opportunity.

That’s why this partnership feels so natural. We’re both working towards the same goal: breaking down barriers & creating a more inclusive, accessible world.
