How much does it cost to charge an electric vehicle?
We suggest using our Charging Calculator to estimate the cost of charging your EV. AC charging is typically cheapest, particularly at home if you sign-up to an energy tariff designed for EV charging. DC charging will usually cost more, but will charge your car faster. Charge speed varies[disclosure: Hybrid and electric FAQ1].
What tailpipe emissions are produced by EVs?
Fully electric vehicles produce zero tailpipe emissions while driving, one of the key electric car benefits. Plug-in hybrids can also reduce emissions by driving partially on electric power. Charging with a renewable energy tariff further lowers CO₂ impact.
How much range do I need?
Think about your longest regular journey. If you’re able to charge at home, you might be able to easily recharge overnight. If you do have a long-distance trip, public charging and IONITY high-power charging can easily be planned as part of your trip.
