THE ADVENTURE CONCLUDES
Lexie Alford has done it! Known to millions as @LexieLimitless, Lexie has completed her epic Charge Around The Globe adventure in the New All-Electric Ford Explorer®, becoming the first person to drive around the world in an electric vehicle. The journey record was tracked and adjudicated by RecordSetter.
Inspired by the trailblazing adventurer Aloha Wanderwell, the first woman to drive around the world one hundred years ago, Lexie Limitless has had quite the adventure. From Greece to Cape Town to Zimbabwe; Australia to India and Singapore; Chile to Argentina, and finally, up through the USA before heading back to Europe.
Lexie Limitless and the electric Ford Explorer have traversed 27 countries, six continents, and covered more than 18,600 miles, taking in awe-inspiring views, sampling delicious local cuisine, and meeting fellow trailblazers. They’ve also triumphed over challenging weather, formidable routes, and the odd flat tyre.
Arriving back in Nice, France, to a hero’s welcome, Lexie and the all-electric Explorer were escorted along the final 6 miles of the journey by an impressive line-up of iconic Fords, including the Model-T, Mustang, Capri, Mach-E, Bronco and F150 Lightning.
