Since its inception, our ‘Very Gay Raptor’ has been getting plenty of attention. Built in response to a homophobic comment on one of our social media posts, it’s become a key vehicle in our on-going allyship with the LGBTQ+ community and our aim to help drive out discrimination in the automotive industry and beyond.

Having already featured in the first episode of our new ‘Tough Talks’ series, the ‘Very Gay Raptor’ will be joining us for a live edition of the show at this week’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Hosted by Welsh rugby legend Gareth Thomas, the first openly-gay rugby union player, the session will explore how the automotive industry can foster a culture of inclusion and allyship for the LGBTQ+ community. We will cover a range of topics and feature guests such as racing driver Abbie Eaton, comedian Catherine Bohart, and Lord March – the son of the Duke of Richmond, who founded the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.

The next-gen Ranger Raptor will, for the first time, appear as ‘Very Gay Raptor’, and will be making its European dynamic debut at Goodwood ascending the famous hill, powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-litre EcoBoost V6 engine, targeting 288 PS and 491 Nm of torque. If you can’t wait to see both vehicles until then, check out our video below which shows that even if they follow different paths their performance ability and toughness are equally impressive… and not defined by exterior identity.
