THE FASTEST TRANSIT WE’VE EVER BUILT

Ford SuperVan

This is a 2,000 horsepower, ultra-high-tech, one-off racing vehicle. And, surprisingly, it’s a van. An all-electric one, at that. Unveiled at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Ford Pro Electric SuperVan is the fourth vehicle in our legendary SuperVan line-up. The first three used engines from Ford’s racing cars, but this all-new version is the first to be fully electric.

Its wild look is inspired by the recently-announced new E-Transit Custom,Tooltip including the lower, wider proportions and design signatures such as the front light bar.

The body is built from the same lightweight composite materials used in racing cars and features advanced aerodynamics to pierce the air and push the Electric SuperVan into the track for maximum performance.

Under the skin, a one-off battery pack and four electric motors combine to produce approximately 2,000 horsepower. Four-wheel drive helps put that power down, while motorsport-spec suspension, brakes and tyres deliver steering and braking capability to match the Electric SuperVan’s colossal straight-line punch.

A SYNC touchscreenTooltip taken straight from our road vehicles enables the driver to pick from Road, Track, Drift, Drag and Rally driving modes, control the onboard cameras, and fine-tune the system that recharges the Electric SuperVan while braking. You can even pair your phone to it and use the onboard WiFi between sessions on track.

The smart tech goes beyond the vehicle: this is the first SuperVan to feature live data sharing that lets us remotely optimise its performance. We can track lap times, battery and charge information in real time, then suggest changes the driver can make via the SYNC screen to enhance performance or create a more dramatic show.

The person tasked with showing off exactly what the Electric SuperVan can do is multiple championship-winning race driver Romain Dumas. The Frenchman’s diverse CV includes outright records at Goodwood and Pikes Peak in electric performance vehicles, as well as the electric lap record at the fearsome Nürburgring Nordschleife, the 24 Hours of Le Mans distance record, and a class win at the Rallye Monte Carlo.
