Better Business

Sustainable thinking is in everything we do and we’ve got ambitious plans for tomorrow. From improvements in transportation and manufacturing, to how materials are sourced and produced, plus respecting human rights, employees, and the communities we are active in.

Better products and services

Electric vehicles are an integral part of our future. We have a full Electric Vehicle line-up, including the All-Electric Ford Capri, All-Electric Explorer, Mustang Mach-E, Puma Gen-E and E-Transit.

Better together

We can make progress when we work together and we know we can’t do this alone. We are creating an environment that we’re all in together – and through Ford Philanthropy, our philanthropic arm of Ford, the mission is to partner with communities to help move people forward and upward.

Partnerships

We are collaboration driven, addressing human and environmental responsibility together with our partners. Ford is part of Catena-X, a network set up to establish data standards for the automotive value chain. We continued to see an increase in the number of Manufacture 2030 (M2030) supplier participants in 2024.

We are a member of the Drive Sustainability partnership that aims to embed sustainable practices throughout the entire automotive supply chain and we were the first American automaker to join the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance, which works to advance more sustainable social and environmental practices in mining.

Communities

Through our Community Relations team, we focus on the communities in which we have manufacturing facilities. We engage with these communities in multiple ways to understand the community sentiment. Through our philanthropic arm, Ford Philanthropy, we’ve given back and have been helping build strong communities for more than 75 years. Ford Philanthropy partners with non-profits in communities around the world where Ford has roots, co-creating and investing in local programs that build equity, and expand access to essential services and education for the future of work. Whether we’re connecting people with fresh food through innovative mobility solutions, helping communities rebuild after disasters, or training students for jobs as auto technicians, we harness Ford’s scale, resources, and expertise to amplify our impact.

Sustainability development goals

Since 2016 Ford has been a signatory of the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals. A 17-step blueprint for businesses that aligns with our commitments, targeting human rights issues, climate change and more. ‘For peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.’
