C-MAX Pre-Collision Assist

A system that can help protect pedestrians

Pre-Collision Assist detects vehicles and pedestrians in the road ahead, or who could cross the vehicle’s path, and warns you of their presence. If you don’t respond, the system automatically applies the brakes. This technology is designed to help reduce the severity of accidents, or help avoid them altogether, and functions at speeds of up to 50 mph.

Stay in control whatever the conditions

Electronic Stability Control constantly monitors your vehicle’s progress. It senses when a vehicle is losing grip and automatically applies a braking pulse to individual wheels, stabilising it. Using advanced sensors from the anti-lock braking and Traction Control System it monitors the behaviour of the vehicle.

Coordinated safety systems activate in a split-second

The C-MAX is equipped with an advanced Intelligent Protection System (IPS), which coordinates a series of safety systems to offer maximum protection for you and your passengers.

Advanced systems for more controlled braking

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution combine to ensure that your braking is more controlled.

At the click of a button, this innovative feature prevents rear power window switch and interior door release operation.

Helping you brake at higher speeds

The Active Braking system is an innovative safety feature that works when you’re traveling at speeds of over 30mph. The technology uses RADAR to scan the road ahead and if it detects a collision is likely, will warn you. If you don’t react, the system primes the brakes then starts braking to help slow you down. Below a speed of 30mph another technology is there to help you: Active City Stop. Combined, these two technologies give you the reassurance of braking assistance through the whole speed range.
