Ford SYNC 3
Ford SYNC 3 features an advanced colour touchscreen with pinch-and-swipe gestures for more intuitive navigation. You can also use your voice to make calls, control your entertainment, and even input a destination to your commercial vehicle’s navigation system. It’s easy to use and smart enough to recognise conversational speech commands, such as "I need fuel".
Ford SYNC 4
Coming in 2022, Ford SYNC 4 is a cloud-connected communication and entertainment system. Cloud connectivity gives SYNC 4 more advanced route planning and conversational voice recognition. While over-the-air updates ensure the SYNC 4 software is continuously evolving. And with wireless smartphone integration, electric van charging management, a new 12” touchscreen, plus a whole lot more, you’ll experience a new world of connectivity with SYNC 4.
Technology to assist your journey
Mechanical Limited-Slip Differential
An advanced system that’s built to help your van tackle challenging terrain with ease. The mechanical Limited-Slip Differential reduces unwanted wheel spin, especially on loose or uneven surfaces, by directing power to the wheel with the most traction. This helps to keep you moving forwards and improves vehicle stability when you need it most.
All-Wheel Drive (AWD)
Icy winter roads, muddy access tracks – wherever your business takes you, All-Wheel Drive (AWD) gives you the confidence to go there. Intelligent All-Wheel Drive is a torque on demand system delivering surefooted progress over challenging surfaces. At the touch of a button or in response to driving conditions, AWD keeps your van and your cargo squarely on the road. And for a weight gain of just -60kg, you get added versatility without sacrificing payload.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control in the Transit can identify the prevailing speed limit and automatically maintain your selected speed within the limit detected. Advanced radar technology scans for slower traffic in front of you, and can automatically adjust your speed to maintain a preset gap from the vehicle ahead. When the traffic has cleared, your van will resume its pre-selected speed.
Intelligent Speed Assist
Intelligent Speed Assist works with Adaptive Cruise Control and is designed to enhance your speed control, enabling you to concentrate on the road. First, a front-facing camera automatically detects the current speed limit. If activated, the system adjusts your maximum speed setting to that limit.
Lane Keeping Aid
The Lane Keeping System uses a forward-looking camera to detect if your van is unintentionally drifting out of lane. Lane Keeping Aid provides gentle steering torque assistance to help guide you back into your lane. If your wheel touches the line or edge of the road, Lane Keeping Alert vibrates the steering wheel and displays a visual warning. The technology automatically deactivates at speeds below 43 mph (64 kph), or can be turned off manually.
Blind Spot Information System
The Blind Spot Information System uses radar sensors to see vehicles that may be hidden in your blind spot. They’re situated on either side of your commercial vehicle and alert you with an orange light, clearly displayed in the side door mirror. And if you are towing a trailer the Trailer Tow functionality (new to the system) extends the BLIS sensor range.
Pre-Collision Assist
Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection uses radar and camera technology to scan the road ahead. If a collision risk with a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist is detected, it’ll then provide you with a warning. If you don’t respond in time, the system can automatically apply up to full braking force to help reduce the severity of, or even eliminate, some frontal collisions.
Traffic Sign Recognition
Whether the signs are at the side of the road or above it, permanent or temporary, Traffic Sign Recognition can identify them. Icons for speed limits and no-overtaking signs are displayed on your van’s instrument cluster, alerting you to changing restrictions.
Roll Stability Control
Ford’s unique roll-rate sensor helps the Roll Stability Control system to keep your van’s tyres grounded, specifically under conditions where there’s a high centre of gravity and when driving through off-camber turns.
Curve Control
Curve Control senses when a driver takes a curve too quickly, and can rapidly reduce engine torque – and apply brakes to individual wheels – to help keep the van safely under control.
Side wind stabilisation
Helps you to stay in lane in strong, gusty conditions by using the Electronic Stability Control system to sense when your van is being affected by crosswinds.
Load Adaptive Control
Load Adaptive Control adjusts the Electronic Stability Control according to the overall weight your Transit is carrying. This ensures control and stability whether empty or fully loaded.
Active Park Assist
Active Park Assist in the Transit makes parking easier than ever. The system identifies a parking space that’s the right size and automatically steers you in or out, while you control the pedals and gears. And to help with reversing, a screen built into the centre console reveals objects you might miss, and the system displays virtual lines to help you park in the smallest of spaces. The camera activates automatically when you select reverse gear.

Ford commercial solutions
Ford offers three telematics solutions for larger fleet business customers. Ford Pro Telematics Essentials is a complimentary fleet management tool, providing customers with live vehicle health data and alerts. Ford Pro Telematics and Ford Pro Data Services are subscription-based products that deliver a broader range of insights, including vehicle location, mileage, fuel monitoring and driver behaviour. So, you can plan more effectively, minimise downtime and increase fleet productivity.
Smart Diagnostics
Whatever the size of your business fleet, Ford Telematics can give you access to a suite of Smart Diagnostics services designed to maximise vehicle uptime. For example, you can allow a Ford Authorised Repairer to access your vehicle health data. Which means that before your vehicle even arrives at the workshop, we can diagnose the problem, proactively order parts, flag any other upcoming maintenance, and agree with you the best schedule to keep your business moving.
