How to Use Ford SYNC Emergency Assistance System

An important and potentially life-saving part of Ford SYNC is Emergency Assistance*. In the unlikely event of an accident, where the airbag is deployed or the fuel-pump deactivated, the technology can use a Bluetooth®-paired and connected mobile phone to automatically make a direct call to the Emergency Services for you. You can choose to stop the call, or talk to those services if you need to. Crucially, the system will supply vital information, such as your GPS coordinates, even if you are unconscious.

Ford Emergency Assistance is free for the life of the car with no subscription fees.

Note: Not all accidents activate the system. If an accident does trigger the system, it initiates a call to the emergency services. Do not wait for the system to initiate a call if you are able to do so. Call emergency services immediately to avoid a delayed response time. If you do not hear the system within five seconds of the accident, the system could be non-functional.

Setting up Ford Emergency Assistance:

  • Touch "Settings"/"Phone"/"Emergency Assistance"
  • Set Emergency Assistance to On or Off
  • Set Emergency Assist. Reminder to ON or Off
