How can I change my Ford vehicle Wi-Fi password?

You can change your Ford vehicle's Wi-Fi hotspot password through SYNC. See the instructions below, which will vary by SYNC generation (gen).

Note: To check which SYNC gen your vehicle has, follow the instructions in 'What SYNC version do I have in my Ford vehicle?'.

SYNC 4A

These steps detail how to change the Wi-Fi password using SYNC 4A.

Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen. If you see a Home icon instead of Settings, select the Home icon.
Select Wi-Fi & Hotspot
Press Settings.
Choose Edit.
Select Change Password.
Enter your new password.
Tap Done.

SYNC 4

These steps detail how to change the Wi-Fi password using SYNC 4.

Tap the vehicle image to bring up the vertical menu.
Select Vehicle Hotspot.
Tap Settings.
Select Edit.
Tap Change Password.
Enter a new password, and tap the Return key on the onscreen keyboard to save.

Change Password Through FordPass

Note: This feature is not available in FordPass 5.

Select Vehicle.
Tap on Feature & Settings.
Select the Wi-Fi Hotspot tile.
Tap on Wi-Fi Settings at the bottom of the page.
Once the Wi-Fi Settings page displays, tap Edit next to Your Wi-Fi Information.
Enter a new password, and tap Save.
