Who carries out the conversion?
OSS Vehicles
OSS Conversions are carried out while Ford still owns the vehicle - either by the converter themselves (using Body & Equipment Mounting Manual (BEMM), or by Ford (using converter designs and components).
Non-OSS Vehicles
Non-OSS Conversions are completed after the base vehicle has been sold by Ford - either to a Ford dealer or to the converter directly. Non-OSS conversions are carried out by a conversion company, and must still be compliant with the BEMM.
Ford Pro Converter Program companies may carry out Non-OSS conversions. These companies are a mix of Ford and Non-Ford converters - all are audited by Ford to ensure they meet conversion quality standards.
Converters outside of the network may also carry out Non-OSS conversions.
What warranty is applied?
OSS Vehicles
The warranty duration on the conversion for OSS vehicles matches the base warranty duration for that vehicle.
Non-OSS Vehicles
Only OSS and Ford Pro Converter Program customers can benefit from the peace of mind that these dealers are obligated to match the base warranty duration.
For conversions done by companies outside the network, refer back to the conversion company for further information on warranty.
Who is responsible for assisting with base vehicle related concerns?
For concerns relating to the base vehicle chassis, these will be handled by a Ford dealer for all conversion types.
Who is responsible for assisting with conversion related concerns?
OSS Vehicles
Any concerns with OSS vehicles are dealt with by Ford directly. OSS customers benefit from a Ford-backed warranty with their Ford dealer able to cover all the service, maintenance and repair needs.
Non-OSS Vehicles
Concerns with Ford Pro Converter Program vehicles should be referred back to the conversion company - the same applies for conversions done by companies outside the network.
