How do I remove FordPass®* modem access for authorised users?

If you wish to remove all authorised users from accessing your Ford via their FordPass App account, perform a FordPass® Connect** Modem Reset. This reset can only be performed in-vehicle. All other SYNC®*** settings, such as paired devices, phone book, and stored addresses will be retained.

Important: When completing a master reset, if modem reactivation is not completed within 24 hours, any subscriptions that the customer has enrolled automatically cancel. 

Removing FordPass Modem Access 

Select your in-vehicle screen below for the appropriate steps. 

SYNC 4 or SYNC 4A

To remove all FordPass modem access using your SYNC 4 or SYNC 4A screen:

  1. Access your vehicle.
  2. Ensure that your vehicle is on, running, in park, and in a well-ventilated area.
  3. Tap the Vehicle button.
  4. Select Settings.
  5. Scroll down and select Reset.
  6. Tap FordPass Connect Reset.
  7. Scroll down and select Reset All

Note: A message will appear confirming that all FordPass Connect settings will be erased and reset to the factory default.

  1. Tap Continue

The FordPass Connect Reset is now complete. All previously authorised users will receive a “Vehicle Access Removed” notification in their FordPass App account and will no longer be able to access the vehicle.

If you wish to reactivate the vehicle modem, select Activate Vehicle in your FordPass App and follow the instructions provided.

Note: Reactivating a vehicle will not reauthorise the previously authorised users.  

SYNC 3

To remove all FordPass modem access using your SYNC 3 screen:

  1. Access your vehicle.
  2. Ensure that your vehicle is on, running, in park, and in a well-ventilated area.
  3. Select Settings from the bottom panel of your vehicle screen.
  4. Tap General
  5. Scroll down and select Reset.
  6. Tap FordPass Connect Reset.
  7. Scroll down and select Reset All

Note: A message will appear confirming that all FordPass Connect settings will be erased and reset to the factory default.

  1. Tap Continue

The FordPass Connect Reset is now complete. All previously authorised users will receive a “Vehicle Access Removed” notification in their FordPass App account and will no longer be able to access the vehicle.

If you wish to reactivate the vehicle modem, select Activate Vehicle in your FordPass App and follow the instructions provided.

Note: Reactivating a vehicle will not reauthorise the previously authorised users.
