What is Connected Vehicle Data?
Connected Vehicle Data is the information we collect from your vehicle, to help us understand its health and usage - and to help you maximise your fleet's productivity.
The data shared powers our intuitive Ford Pro™ software products such as E-Switch Assist, and Telematics for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicles (EVs). Read below to learn how Connected Vehicle Data is shared, used and controlled.

Why share Connected Vehicle Data?
Our suite of Ford Pro software solutions leverage Connected Vehicle Data, allowing you to get the most out of your fleet.
Connected Vehicle Data helps with:
- Research and development - New products to better address customer needs.
- Custom recommendations - Such as service plans, maintenance checks, charging stations, ect.
What Connected Vehicle Data can be shared?
You can consent to share:
- Vehicle data (such as vehicle identification number, vehicle health, odometer readings).
- Driving data (such as brake and acceleration patterns, driver assist features).
- Location data (such as to find nearby service centres).
Note: Only the designated Primary Admin (also called the Blue Star Admin) on the account can see, set and change data sharing preferences.
You can control your Connected Vehicle Data sharing preferences either by:
- Within your Ford Pro Marketplace account.
- Contact us for further assistance.
- In-vehicle via the SYNC® screen (only if the vehicle is not Fleet authorised).
Your data sharing preferences will apply to all current and future vehicles linked to your account and, if a vehicle is removed from your account then your preferences will no longer be applied to that vehicle from the date of removal. Head to the Admin section of your account, for a full list of your connected vehicles.

Is my data secure with Ford?
Yes. Ford processes your data securely in accordance with data protection regulations.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
We may share your data with our internal teams involved in the sales, administration and support of Ford Pro, our affiliates and external service providers. We may also share your data to comply with a legal obligation or requests from public authorities; to comply with legal and regulatory responsibilities, for safety reasons, fraud prevention and security purposes.
Can I choose to share specific data types and only for specific purposes?
Yes.
Head to your Ford Pro account > tap the Choose what to share option.
Here you can select what individual data types will be shared with Ford and for what purposes (e.g. to exclude location data for research and development purposes but allow it for custom recommendations).
Can I change my data sharing preferences later?
Yes.
You can change your data sharing preferences at any time by logging into your Ford Pro account > visiting the Connected Vehicle Data sharing page.
Here you will have the option to toggle between YES/NO for sharing your vehicle, driving, and location data - for research and development or custom recommendation purposes.
Where can I see the data sharing preferences that have been set for my organisation?
If you are the primary admin for your fleet, you can see and change your data sharing preferences by visiting the “Connected Vehicle Data Sharing” page in your Ford Pro account.
Who can make data sharing decisions for the fleet?
As primary admin (also called Blue Star Admin), you can make data sharing decisions on behalf of your company.
What happens if I choose not to share data with Ford?
If you choose not to share data, you will still be able to use all your Ford Pro products and access your connected vehicle data in services.
However, Ford will not be able to use this data to develop and personalise products, services and recommendations (such as warranty extensions, that may benefit your business).
I see a connected vehicle data sharing request in a pop-up when I log in but I am not the person in my organisation responsible for these decisions. What should I do?
