Which Charge Cables do Ford Electric Vehicles Come With?

The new Electric Vehicles (EV) and Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles (PHEV) are supplied with cords with Type 2 connectors. This is the most commonly used for public charging. Cords are also available to purchase as an accessory from Ford dealers.

The cords supplied are:

  • Ford BEV and PHEV’s - The Universal Home Charging Cord (6 meters) fitted with a type 2 plug for the vehicle end and with a standard domestic mains electrical plug at the other.
  • Ford BEV only - A Public Charging Cord (7.5 meters) with type 2 plug at both ends. A type 2 socket is the most common connection fitted to public chargers.

Note: The new EVs and PHEVs are all fitted with a type 2 inlet. Older vehicles (such as the C-Max Energi, and earlier Focus Electric / Transit Electric) have a 5 pin Type 1 charge Inlet and will not be compatible with current charge cable supplied with our vehicles.

Replacement cables can be purchased from any Ford Dealer
