  • What is Ford Lease and what finance products do you?

    Ford Lease is the trading name of ALD Automotive Limited, who Ford have chosen to manage and offer our lease products. Click on the name of the product you want to know more about:

    • Ford Contract Hire for cars and for commercial vehicles: Fixed monthly rentals based on a fixed term and mileage. You return the vehicle at the end of the agreement
    • Ford Finance Lease: Fixed monthly rentals, and you sell the commercial vehicle at the end of the agreement. Any proceeds will be refunded to you subject to settlement of any payments due to us. This product is for commercial vehicles only.

    Who owns the vehicle?

    Ford Lease remains the owner of the vehicle throughout the agreement.

    What information will you need from me in order to progress my finance application?

    Our requirements vary based on the type of agreement being proposed. Please contact your Ford Dealer for more information.

    I want to lease my vehicle: how do I get a lease agreement?

    The first step is to choose your vehicle, and get a quote. You can do this here

    I've applied for a lease agreement: how can I find out what stage my application is at?

    The Dealer who helped with your lease application will be able to give you an update on the status of your application.

    Which vehicles am I able to lease? Am I able to specify what colours/options I want?

    Any new Ford vehicle can be leased (commercial vehicles only on Finance Lease), as well as some used Ford vehicles, as long as they are less than 12 months old. When choosing a new Ford vehicle, you can specify any colour and options that are available on the vehicle: just bear in mind that the cost of these options may increase your monthly rentals.

     

  • Can I settle my lease agreement?

    You may be able to settle your agreement early, but this depends on your type of lease agreement. Please contact your Ford Dealer to discuss.

    Will the lease payments change during the course of my agreement?

    No. The rentals are fixed for the duration of your lease agreement.

    Can I increase the annual mileage applicable to my contract?

    Mileage amendments can be made on some leasing products if required, but not in the first 6 months of your contract. For further information, just contact your Ford Dealer who will be able to help you.

    Can I extend my Ford Lease agreement beyond the originally agreed term?

    It may be possible to extend your contract beyond the original contract term: just contact your Ford Dealer who will be able to help.

    Can I take my vehicle out of the UK?

    You may take your vehicle outside of the UK with Ford Lease's consent, so long as it is for a period of 30 days or less. You will not be able to take your vehicle permanently out of the country under any circumstances.

    Can I change my Direct Debit Due Date?

    Yes, depending on your Business status. For regulated customers (Sole Traders and Small Partnerships), you can choose from the 14th, 21st or 28th. If you are a non-regulated customer (Large Partherships and Limited Companies), you can choose from the 10th, 18th, 24th or 26th. Speak to your Ford Dealer if you require any help with changing your Direct Debit.

    How can I pay my Ford Lease rentals?

    All Ford Lease rentals are collected by Direct Debit.

    What happens if I can't/don't pay my monthly rental?

    If you think you are going to have any issues with paying your monthly rental, you need to get in touch with Ford Lease immediately on 0344 600 1406 or via email at queries@fordlease.co.uk

    Can I take a payment holiday on my Ford Lease agreement?

    No. Ford Lease do not offer payment holidays.

    Will I get a replacement vehicle if my leased vehicle is stolen, written off, damaged etc.?

     Ford Lease do not offer replacement vehicles as standard, but they will be made available by the AA for 48 hours after an accident or breakdown. A rental vehicle can also be arranged through your Ford Dealer if required.

    What happens if the lessee dies during the agreement?

  • Who is responsible for maintaining and servicing the vehicle?

    Ordinarily, you will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle, and must service the vehicle at a Ford Dealership of your choice. We do offer Contract Hire with Maintenance, where Ford Lease will maintain and service the vehicle: you will know if you entered in to this type of agreement by looking at your contract. If you are a current Ford Lease customer, get in touch with your Ford Dealer to find out what sort of agreement you have entered into.

    What happens if my vehicle breaks down?

    Call the driver assistance team on 0344 600 1406. Finance Lease - please refer to the manufacturers handbook to check if cover is provided as standard by the manufacturer and call the emergency number quoted. If the vehicle requires recovery to a dealership by the AA, a 48 hour courtesy vehicle will be provided.

    Does my vehicle need to be insured?

    Yes. As part of your Ford Lease agreement, you are required to insure the vehicle on a fully comprehensive cover basis with an insurance company authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority.

    What should I do if my vehicle is stolen?

    Who is responsible for speeding tickets, parking fines, insurance claims, and other criminal or civil liabilities related to the leased vehicle?

    You are responsible for all criminal or civil liabilites incurred in relation to your leased vehicle. As part of your agreement you agree to indemnify Ford Lease against any claims, fines, fees, charges, invoices or penalties incurred by the driver or any other person in relation to the leased vehicle.

    What happens if my vehicle is damaged or gets involved in an accident during my lease agreement?

    You will be responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is repaired to the standard detailed in our Wear and Tear Guide, available here. Failure to ensure that the vehicle meets our standards at the end of the contract can result in charges when you come to hand the vehicle back (Ford Contract Hire), or a lower price achieved when you sell the commercial vehicle (Ford Finance Lease).

  • What happens at the end of my Ford Lease contract?

    For Contract Hire, there are no part exchange or disposal issues. At the end of the agreement, you simply return the vehicle to us or we collect the vehicle from you, and take out a new Ford Contract Hire agreement. For Ford Finance Lease, you may sell the vehicle on our behalf and the proceeds will be returned to you subject to any outstanding payment which may be due to us.

    What documentation do I need to return with my vehicle at the end of my lease agreement?

    Will my vehicle be collected at the end of my lease contract?

    Yes, you will be sent two End of Contract letters - 180 days and 45 days before your end of contract date which will advise how to arrange a collection.

    Am I able to purchase my lease vehicle at the end of my contract?

    No. As Ford Lease only offers leasing products, you will not be able to purchase your leased vehicle at the end of your contract. If you wish to own your vehicle at the end of your contract, why not consider Ford Acquire for cars or commercial vehicles

    Before you Start

    What are the deposit requirements?

    We have no standard minimum deposit requirements. However, minimum deposits may vary across marketing programmes. Speak to your Dealer for more information. VAT registered commercial vehicle customers must pay the VAT amount on the price of the vehicle in full with the deposit.

    How much will my vehicle cost per month?

    Your Ford Dealer will be able to help with this by providing you with a quote.

    What information will you need from me and my business?

    This depends on the sort of business you have, as well as the vehicle you choose. Please contact your Ford Dealer to discuss our requirements.

    How long will it take to process my application?

    Your Dealer will be able to keep you updated on the status of your application, and give you a rough timeframe based on the individual circumstance of your deal.

    How much can I borrow?

    This depends on a case by case basis. However, as there are normally no minimum deposits, it can be possible to borrow 100% of the vehicle price (excluding VAT for VAT registered customers). Contact your Ford Dealer if you wish to know more information.

    I think I want to finance my vehicle using Ford Acquire: what do I do next?
