Purchasing

With a yearly spend of approximately $20 billion, our European Purchasing Group externally procures the components, services, and supplies required to manufacture vehicles and run our business. 

As a buyer, you’ll be making critical purchasing decisions required to sustain and develop the world class, competitive supply base that supports just about everything we do, ensuring Ford remains a market leader in its field. You will:

  • Analyse quotations
  • Negotiate prices and terms with both current and prospective suppliers
  • Ensure lowest total cost whilst improving quality
  • Ensure delivery on time
  • Interface with other Ford organisations


Upon joining the Purchasing team, there are opportunities to grow and develop your career within Ford with a wealth of experiences that you can explore and you will work in one of the key business areas:

Commodity Purchasing – buying engine and vehicle components

Non Production Purchasing – buying services, such as transportation, sales & marketing and industrial materials.

Program Purchase - this involves coordinating one of our new engine programs, liaising with the supply base to ensure that the program is ready for launch.
