Safety and Security

The New Tourneo Courier is equipped with a range of sophisticated technologies that are designed to help keep you and your passangers safe and your vehicle secure. Some technologies, including Roll Stability Control and Trailer Sway control, exist to help prevent accidents occurring in the first place. Other systems, including Emergency Brake Assist can help to reduce the severity of any accidents that occur.

Enhanced stability in difficult driving conditions

Electronic Stability Control constantly monitors your vehicle’s progress. It senses when it’s losing grip and automatically applies a braking pulse to individual wheels, helping to stabilise it. Using advanced sensors from the anti-lock braking and Traction Control System it monitors the behaviour of the vehicle.

Enhanced Airbag System

The New Tourneo Courier is available with curtain, driver, passenger and side airbags and an improved activation system.

An early warning if a tyre is going flat

If it detects any of your tyres starting to lose pressure during your journey, the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System warns you by lighting up an icon on the instrument panel.

Continuous protection against rolling over

Ford’s unique roll-rate sensor helps the Roll Stability Control system to keep the tyres grounded, specifically under conditions where there’s a high centre of gravity and when driving through off-camber turns.

Helping to keep children safe

The New Tourneo Courier is designed to help keep young children safe and secure on every journey. It comes with rear ISOFIX child seat attachment points, so you can easily fit two child seats.

Advanced systems for more controlled braking

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution combine to ensure that your braking is effective. Emergency Brake Assist also helps your vehicle achieve maximum braking effectiveness in an emergency situation. It’s controlled automatically via the Electronic Stability Control system, which senses how much pressure you’ve applied to the brake yourself and automatically increases it, if necessary. And if you brake heavily, the emergency brake light system flashes the brake lights to warn other drivers.

Helps keep your trailer in line

Trailer Sway Control detects ‘snaking’ or trailer sway and reduces your vehicle’s speed to help you regain control, making towing easier. The system slows the vehicle down by reducing the engine’s torque and gradually increasing the brake pressure on all wheels.
