The Focus ST delivers the ultimate Focus driving experience. Available with Selectable Drive Modes, including Normal, Sport, and Track, you can seamlessly change your Focus from a refined tourer to an exhilarating performance car. The precision-tuned chassis has been combined with Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD), which continuously adjusts suspension settings to ensure outstanding ride quality and driving dynamics, whatever the conditions. This is a Focus that’s built for the road and born for the track.
The Focus ST is available with four Selectable Drive Modes: Slippery, Normal, Sport and TrackTooltip. Each setting fine-tunes the hot hatch's performance by modifying engine mapping, throttle position, brake pedal and steering response. This is combined with Enhanced Torque Vectoring, Electronic Stability Control, and a performance-tuned chassis, for optimal handling whether you’re driving on the motorway or enjoying a day on the track.
The new Focus ST comes armed Ford’s sophisticated Continuously Controlled Damping technologyTooltip. This smart system continuously monitors vehicle suspension. It then adjusts individual damping responses to deliver enhanced comfort and outstanding driving dynamics. For petrol vehicles equipped with the optional Ford Performance Pack, an enhanced, adaptive version of CCDTooltip makes further adjustments to the suspension settings. According to the individual drive mode you have selected, the system will fine-tune individual damper settings to optimise your chosen drive mode.
Designed to deliver a consistent take off and maximise acceleration off the line, Focus ST is equipped with Launch ControlTooltip. Set the maximum rpm for the engine and you can put your foot flat on the throttle whilst the car holds your desired rpm.
For the first time, the new Focus ST is available with rev-matchingTooltip technology. The smart system is designed to make dropping into a lower gear faster and smoother. This enables less experienced drivers to enjoy momentum-maintaining gearshifts delivered by advanced heel and toe driving techniques. More experienced performance drivers can deactivate the technology if they prefer.
The Shift Indicator LightTooltip is designed to optimise your gear shifts for improved performance driving. A red-coloured ST logo is perfectly positioned in the rev counter and illuminates to let you know the best time to shift gears.
Co-Pilot360 combines a range of technologies that, together, work to make your driving experience more comfortable and more enjoyable than ever. For example, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go automatically adjusts your cruise control speed based on the vehicle ahead. If traffic slows to a standstill, the engine will automatically stop and restart your Focus ST when the road clears. The system can even recognise speed signs and adjust your cruise control speed accordingly. Lane Centring technology can also provide steering assistance by following road markings to help keep you positioned in the middle of your lane.
Adaptive Lighting with Ford Dynamic LED headlights delivers a precise and intensely bright light pattern that automatically adjusts to suit different road and driving conditions. In addition, the glare-free high beam adjusts itself automatically to avoid dazzling other drivers, and the new system can even read the curve of the road to illuminate corners and crossings before you enter them. This feature also includes daytime running lights for enhanced visibility.
The Head-Up display projects your Focus ST’s dashboard information into your field of vision, so you can stay informed without having to glance down to the dashboard. The information shown on the colour display can also be fully customised to suit your preferences.
Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go adjusts your cruise control speed based on the vehicle ahead. If traffic slows to a standstill, the system can bring your ST to a complete stop. And when the traffic clears, your Focus ST automatically accelerates back up to your previous pre-set speed. This smart technology also includes Speed Sign Recognition – useful if you fail to spot a change in speed zones.
The Blind Spot Information System uses RADAR sensors to see vehicles that may be hidden in your blind spot. They’re situated on either side of your Focus ST and alert you with an orange light, clearly displayed in the side door mirror.
Torque Vectoring Control reacts to the road surface 100 times per second. (That’s 33 times faster than the blink of an eye.) Using this information, it balances the amount of power delivered to each of the two front wheels. This maximises grip and sharpens handling around corners and over undulations in the road.
Split-View Camera technology helps you to see traffic that’s coming from the rear sides. It works by showing you a 180-degree image of the area behind your Focus ST. This helps you to spot obstacles that can’t be seen over your shoulder, or in the mirrors when you’re reversing.
Electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) automatically adjusts to your speed and the conditions. At low speeds, the system makes wheel turns feel lighter and easier, improving manoeuvrability. At high speeds, when you need greater control, it firms up the steering. Now with drift control, EPAS also takes into account crosswinds and other driving conditions, while active nibble control reduces any unwanted vibration in the steering wheel.
