Safety and Security

The New Edge employs a series of smart safety systems that combine to help keep you, your family, and other road users as safe as possible. Some technologies, including airbags throughout the entire vehicle, help to protect your family in the event of an accident. Others, such as Pre-Collision Assist, are there to help prevent accidents in the first place.

A system that can help protect pedestrians

Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection uses RADAR and camera technology to scan the road ahead. If a collision risk with a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist is detected, it’ll then provide you with a warning. If you don’t respond in time, the system can automatically apply up to full braking force to help reduce the severity of, or even eliminate, some frontal collisions.

Keeping your trailer safely in line

Trailer Sway Control detects ‘snaking’ or trailer sway and reduces your vehicle’s speed to help solve the problem, making towing more controlled. The system slows the vehicle down by reducing the engine’s torque and gradually increasing the brake pressure on all wheels.
