Extra protection for your rear passengers

The two rear outer seats can be fitted with a unique safety feature: a rear inflatable seat belt. In the event of an impact, the belts inflate and spread the crash forces over a five times larger area of the body than conventional seat belts. By reducing pressure on the chest and better controlling head and neck movement, this innovative technology can help reduce the likelihood of injury.

Helping to keep children safe

The Edge is designed to help keep young children safe and secure on every journey. It comes with rear ISOFIX child seat attachment points, so you can easily fit two child seats.

Continuous protection against rolling over

Ford’s unique roll-rate sensor helps the Roll Stability Control system to keep the tyres grounded, specifically under conditions where there’s a high centre of gravity and when driving through off-camber turns.

Coordinated safety systems activate in a split-second

The Edge is equipped with an advanced Intelligent Protection System (IPS), which coordinates a series of safety systems to offer maximum protection for you and your passengers.

Keeping your trailer safely in line

Trailer Sway Control detects ‘snaking’ or trailer sway and reduces your vehicle’s speed to help solve the problem, making towing more controlled. The system slows the vehicle down by reducing the engine’s torque and gradually increasing the brake pressure on all wheels.
