Power-assisted steering that responds to every situation

Electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) automatically adjusts to your speed and the conditions. At low speeds, the system makes wheel turns feel lighter and easier, improving manoeuvrability. At high speeds, when you need greater control, it firms up the steering. Now with drift control, EPAS also takes into account crosswinds and other driving conditions, while active nibble control reduces any unwanted vibration in the steering wheel.

Unrivalled access with the Ford Easy Access Door System

Opening the front and sliding rear doors gives you an unobstructed 1.5m wide aperture on each side, making it easier to get in and get out. B-MAX’s unique system achieves this by cleverly concealing its central strengthening pillar within the doors, rather than having it fixed into the body side.

Get the most out of your engine

The innovative 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Ford EcoBoost petrol engine gives you all the power you’d expect from a conventional 1.6-litre engine (up to 125PS) whilst delivering around 24% better fuel economy and 25% lower CO2 emissions. No wonder Ford EcoBoost has been awarded International Engine of the Year for the sub 1.0-litre category for a record five years in succession.

To help avoid low speed collisions

The innovative Active City Stop helps the driver avoid a collision in slow-moving traffic or at speeds up to 30mph. It does this by continually measuring the distance to the vehicle in front when it is within a near range. If the system detects the vehicle in front has unexpectedly reduced speed, it automatically applies the brakes.
