Ford S-MAX secures 5 stars from Euro NCAP
Ford’s no-compromise attitude to safety has been rewarded by Euro NCAP once again. The S-MAX outperformed every other car in its class, winning 36 points and earning a maximum five star rating for adult occupant safety, plus an excellent four stars for child protection. Intelligent systems ensure best in class ranking
Ford's Intelligent Protection System (IPS) uses several systems working together to protect you and your family:
  • a body structure that’s optimised for strength
  • driver’s knee airbag
  • side-mounted air bags for the front seats
  • window curtain air bags
  • three-point seat belts with pre-tensioners
  • collapsible steering column and pedals
  • active head restraints
These standard features mean the S-MAX is simply one of the safest cars on the road.

Big on safety for little people
ISOFIX child seats are the safest option for transporting your smallest passengers. They’re also incredibly convenient, attaching securely to the rear row seating through reinforced anchor points attached directly to the car’s body structure. The S-MAX features a three-anchor ISOFIX system for the outer seats of the second row, and Ford dealers can supply car seats for children of all sizes and ages.
