The ensemble includes two British rock legends and an amateur songwriter, plus musicians from the Academy of Contemporary Music and the National Symphony Orchestra. Not forgetting some more instruments from dismantled Ford Focuses. The end result has made musical history.
The track is called
Six O’Clock in the Morning, and features Mike Rutherford (of Genesis and Mike and the Mechanics fame) on ‘clutchplate guitar’, plus Kenny Jones (of the Faces and the Who), drumming, tapping, jangling and scraping away on wheel-rims, cogs, springs and gears. Arranged by Tim Woods, the song was written by Richard Watson, who also performs the vocals.
It all comes together beautifully – and makes a great download. You’ll find it at
