“What we’re doing is visualising the dynamic qualities of the Ford brand. We’re defining this as Ford kinetic Design and when you look at iosis concept vehicle you can see that it captures the energy of the moving vehicle. We are showing with kinetic Design how we will push towards design leadership.”

Martin Smith, Ford of Europe’s Executive Design Director

Featuring
  • Unique proportions and a stunningly original design that defines Ford of Europe's new design language
  • An original double pivoting and pillarless door opening system for optimum interior access
  • Dramatic, precision, high-technology lighting
  • Cameras that replace rear view mirrors to offer unparalleled all-round visibility
  • An exterior and interior that is powerful, assertive, confident and inviting to drive
Design themes familiar from the world of racing cars have been used extensively. And when you walk around the car you’ll find its muscular profile evokes the stance of a sprinter poised on fingertips in the blocks, awaiting the starting gun.

Inside, high-tech looks combine with real-world practicality
The interior design continues the feel and expands on the exterior design themes, whilst the technical character combines sophisticated design and materials.

Ford’s interior design team wanted the driver to be enticed by the interior as the doors swung open. Hence the ultra-modern steering wheel fashioned from solid aluminium with contrasting orange glove-leather grips and the WRC-inspired sequential gear shifter, just a hand span from the steering wheel.

Let Martin Smith sum up what this vision of the future represents: “The iosis concept vehicle is kinetic Design, it's energy in motion” he says,” and it’s unique to Ford.”
