There are two different schemes available, Contract Hire and Hire Purchase, you simply need to choose the one that’s right for you.

With the Contract Hire scheme you assign your allowance over to Motability and you receive a brand new car every three years. Your allowance covers most of the running costs. With Ford Mobility you will find many vehicles available at Nil Advance Payment, which means you don’t have to pay any money yourself.

If you’d prefer to own your car, the Hire Purchase scheme may be the option for you. The scheme may also be best if you require extensive adaptations, or expect to have high annual mileage.

When accepted on to a scheme, you assign your allowance to Motability Operations for the period of the Contract Hire or Hire Purchase agreement. This is under direct transfer arrangements, agreed between Motability and the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).

The agreement is then sent to your local Motability accredited Ford Dealership, with a letter of confirmation sent to you. It may sound complicated, but the Motability specialist at your Ford Dealership will help you with the process from application to the delivery of your vehicle.
