To qualify for Motability you must be receiving one of the following benefits:

• Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (HRMC-DLA) or...
• War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS)

If you’re unable to drive, you’re still able to receive a car on the Motability scheme by nominating a family member, guardian, or carer as your driver.

An Award Notice with details of your allowance should have been sent to you by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). But if they haven’t sent one, or if you have mislaid it, simply contact the DWP on 0845 7123 456.

It’s important to know that if you choose a Contract Hire car package, you must have at least 12 months of award length remaining.

For customers choosing to buy a car with a Hire Purchase agreement, it’s normally expected that you’ll be receiving the allowance for the full length of the agreement.
