To qualify for the Scheme, you need to receive either the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (HRMC-DLA), or the War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS). You can get information about these benefits from your local Department of Work and Pensions.

The best thing to do is arrange to see your local Motability Specialist and compare our Ford models for yourself. Then you can book test drives, or rides, before you make a decision.

You should expect to receive the allowance for the full length of the agreement you choose. Motability welcome applications as long as you have at least 12 months award length remaining when you apply.

The DWP can award the HRMC-DLA or WPMS to the ages of 3 – 65. You need to be in receipt of the HRMC-DLA before your 65th Birthday to be able to apply for a car on the Motability scheme. You can select up to two drivers, one of whom may be yourself, but this does not apply to anyone under the age of 16. For those under 16, the drivers named on the Certificate of Motor Insurance are the only people allowed to drive the car. Only one permitted driver can be under the age of 21, and drivers under the age of 25 are restricted to cars up to the Association of British Insurers Car group 8.
