A commitment to safety is at the heart of every car Ford build, and the new Focus Coupé-Cabriolet is no exception. The Intelligent Protection System (IPS) and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) both come as standard alongside front and side airbags, Roll-Over Protection, and ABS brakes with electronic brake-force distribution. Extra safety features are also available as options such as Adaptive Front lighting for even sharper road illumination, and the Tyre Deflation Detection System. The new Focus Coupé-Cabriolet proves that stunning design feels even better when combined with extra peace of mind for you and your passengers.
Safety
Roll-Over Protection Device (RPD)
The new Focus Coupé-Cabriolet’s Roll-Over Protection Device provides powerful protection for you and your passengers, but you’ll never know it’s there. Neatly hidden from view, it can deploy ultra-strong rollover bars to shield you in milliseconds.
Intelligent Protection System
Ford’s Intelligent Protection System (IPS) integrates all the safety features of the new Focus Coupé-Cabriolet so they work together for maximum effectiveness, with the quickest response times. You’ll be reassured to know that an array of sensors is ready to activate your safety systems in just a fraction of a second. That includes front and side airbags, seat belts, the brake and clutch pedal intrusion prevention system, and the load-limiting steering column, which moves away from the driver during impact.
Active safety features
The Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) is constantly monitoring vehicle behaviour, while the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) further enhance new Focus Coupé-Cabriolet’s outstanding driving dynamics by ensuring the car always delivers an agile, controlled and enjoyable drive. They prevent the wheels from locking when braking and, when it really counts, can reduce stopping distance by up to 25%.
ISOFIX Britax child seat*
ISOFIX child seats are the safest option for transporting your smallest passengers, and are more convenient to use as well. They attach securely to the rear seats through reinforced anchor points welded to the car’s body structure, which are standard on the new Focus Coupé-Cabriolet.

Adaptive Front Lighting
The optional Adaptive Front lighting System provides additional safety when driving at night. This innovative system equips the new Focus Coupé-Cabriolet with headlights that automatically turn left or right as you steer, lighting the road ahead more accurately and safely.
*Note: A child seat should never be placed on the front passenger seat when the Ford vehicle is equipped with an operational front passenger’s airbag. The safest place for children is properly restrained on the rear seat.
