Tax Free Sales
An individual can buy a vehicle free of UK Value Added Tax if he/she intends to live outside the country for a period of time, export it permanently, or be a foreign national on posting to the UK as a member of Visiting Forces or the Diplomatic Service.

Military Sales
Sales to military personnel, predominantly HM Forces, comprise a large percentage of Ford’s Tax Free Sales business, supported by competitive pricing. This special pricing is also available to HM Forces when buying Tax Paid vehicles for the UK home market.

Tax Free qualification

You are eligible to apply for the purchase of a Ford vehicle if you are:

  • A serving member of HM Forces or Diplomatic Service, either posted or about to be posted overseas
  • A serving member of a visiting force based in the UK
  • A civilian leaving the UK
  • A visiting diplomat posted to the UK

Tax Paid qualification

You are eligible to apply for the purchase of a Ford vehicle with additional support if you are:

  •  A serving member of HM forces, based in the UK

Tax Free/Tax Paid helpline

Ford has a dedicated Tax Free/Tax Paid helpline to assist you and the Ford dealer network with all HM Customs and Excise exemption programmes, including assistance with the completion of forms, vehicle suitability and availability, together with detail of your local dealership.

The helpline is available for you to call during the hours of 8.30am to 5pm (UK time) Monday to Friday on 0044 (0) 1932 335113.
