Kuga
Safety
The technologically advanced Intelligent Protection System (IPS) keeps constant watch over the vehicle. So you and your passengers can relax, knowing you have a comprehensive safety system to keep your new Kuga secure.

Passive safety features
Airbags
The comprehensive package of airbags incorporates state-of-the-art technology. In addition to full-size front and side airbags for driver and front passenger*, new Kuga also includes side curtain airbags for the front and the rear.

* Note: A child seat should never be placed in the front passenger seat when the Ford vehicle is equipped with an operational front passenger’s airbag. The safest place for children is properly restrained on the rear seat.

Seat belts
Front seat belts spring into action 5-10 milliseconds before airbags activate. This takes up any slack between the wearer and the belt and can help lessen the effect of impact.

The outside rear seats include ISOFIX mounts for child seats

Rigid safety cell
The foundation of the new Kuga’s safety system is its rigid passenger cell, specially designed to resist deformation in the event of a collision

Advanced steering column
The steering column has been designed to further absorb the energy of any impact and collapse directly away from the driver into the dashboard.
