Ford Motor Company has a proud tradition of providing quality apprenticeships in Manufacturing Engineering which dates back over 70 years. Things have changed since the early days of car manufacturing, and our apprentices need to be equipped to work with the technologically advanced equipment that the automotive industry demands.
The Ford Advanced Apprenticeship is a nationally recognised programme combining practical and academic learning. More details of this are included in the job descriptions.
Ford runs Advanced Apprenticeship programmes in Manufacturing Engineering around most of its major locations in the UK, including:
- Bridgend, South Wales
- Dagenham and Dunton, Essex
- Southampton, Hampshire
During your training and once you qualify, you may find yourself maintaining and repairing production machinery, manufacturing tools and dies or testing prototype vehicles and engines.
When you start your apprenticeship you will need to have at least three GCSEs, to include Maths, Grade B or above, English Language Grade C or above, and a science (double award or Physics single award), Grade C or above.
