As proud supporters of environmental improvements, Ford engineers have worked hard to deliver a Focus that emits lower C02 emissions. The result is the new Ford Focus ECOnetic, which emits just 115g/km of CO2, the lowest CO2 level in its class.

In addition, to further reduce the CO2 emissions by burning less petrol, the new Focus is also available with a Flexifuel engine. This can run on bio-ethanol (E85) fuel, petrol or any mixture of the two, meaning that if you’re running low on fuel and bio-ethanol is not readily available you can use petrol until you next need to fill up.

The lighting technology in the new Focus is designed to make night-time driving easier and safer. Automatic headlights are available which turn on as it gets dark, and models can also be fitted with either bi-xenon headlights (brighter than conventional halogen lamps) or Adaptive Front lighting*.

With the Adaptive Front lighting system, headlights are horizontally adjusted according to the speed and angle of the steering wheel. This means as you turn the wheel, the lights will also turn to illuminate your forward route rather than the surrounding landscape. This enhances road illumination when cornering, boosting forward visibility through bends and creating a safer driving environment.

To complete the redesign, new LED lights* fitted at the rear respond faster and shine brighter than conventional rear lights to increase visibility to other drivers.

The new Focus is equipped to respond faster than ever to your surrounding conditions. Your windscreen wipers will switch on automatically if it starts to rain and the rear sensors make parking and manoeuvring easier.* Parking sensors give you audible warning to help you judge the distance between the rear of your car and an obstacle giving you extra confidence and peace of mind.

Fumbling for your keys when you’re laden down with life’s baggage can also become a thing of the past. Simply walk towards your new Focus and the vehicle will automatically sense your approach. Pulling the handle instantly unlocks the driver’s door, and the engine will surge into life with a simple press of the 'Ford Power' button – all without you ever needing to remove the Key-Free remote control from your pocket or bag.*

By incorporating a simple capless refuelling system, the new Focus is designed to prevent mis-fuelling and the associated damage, inconvenience and expense. Also with no cap to unscrew, or lose, it reduces the likelihood of fuel-tainted fingers.

The optional solar reflect windshield has been engineered by Ford to significantly reduce solar heat transmitted into the Focus, improving comfort and efficiency. It is designed to reflect significantly more energy than standard glass – meaning the interior can be cooled more efficiently to ensure the system reaches your required temperature much more quickly.

Another useful feature, this system automatically alerts you if your tyre pressure drops to an unsafe level improving driver peace of mind.*
