Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) now standard on all diesel powered Transit Panel Vans

Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) incorporating ABS, senses when the vehicle is deviating from the driver’s chosen line and automatically applies the necessary power and braking adjustments to correct its road position. ESP is now a standard fitment to all diesel powered panel vans.

Ford ESP is an advanced driver aid system and includes Brake Traction Control, Hill Launch Assist, Active YAW Control, Roll Over Mitigation, Roll Movement Intervention, Hydraulic Brake Assist and Load Adaptive Control.

Brake Assist – a system that detects emergency braking and automatically applies maximum braking effort to potentially reduce stopping distances – and BTCS (brake traction control system) to aid traction when pulling away from rest, it helps keeps you on course when the going gets tough.

The Ford Transit Van's reinforced body structure offers plenty of all-round passive protection. Plus a wealth of sophisticated active safety features too. These include standard four-wheel disc brakes with ABS (anti-lock brakes) and electronic brake-force distribution to help prevent the rear wheels from locking-up, particularly when driving unladen.

In addition, every Ford Transit Van benefits from numerous practical safety features, including a driver's airbag, optional front passenger's airbag* and side airbags (standard on leather seats). Visibility is enhanced by large exterior mirrors with wide angle lenses.

Three-point seat belts are fitted to all seating positions to ensure safety at all times.

*Note: A rear-facing child seat should never be placed in the front passenger seat when the Ford vehicle is equipped with an operational front passenger's airbag.
