Active safety
The Mondeo features a number of significant active safety technologies to watch over the vehicle and help prevent accidents from happening.

Ready to react are the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System*, which constantly monitors tyre pressure and sounds a warning if it falls and Run Flat Tyres* which assists you to drive safely if a puncture occurs. (*Optional)

Then there’s the Adaptive Front Lighting System (standard on Titanium X) which lets you see around corners and Bi-xenon High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights (optional on Zetec and above), twice as bright as standard Halogen lights, so others are sure to notice your presence.

Safety features
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
ABS is standard on all models and prevents the brakes from locking the wheels. This helps to prevent skidding in extreme conditions or under very hard braking.

Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD)
EBD balances the braking force across all four wheels to achieve stable braking and shorter stopping distances.

Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) with Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)
Now standard on Mondeo models, ESP detects sudden changes in steering, braking and vehicle behaviour that may cause a loss of vehicle control. It reacts automatically, if needed. By reducing power and braking individual wheels, it helps you stay confidently on the right track. EBA helps reduce stopping distances in an emergency.
