Protective space
We want you to feel secure in your space. So we’ve introduced the world-class Ford Intelligent Protection System (IPS) to make sure you’re protected wherever you choose to travel.

Safety and technology
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Forward Alert (FA) (optional)
Letting you set the pace, Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert automatically adjusts your speed if the car in front is travelling at slower speed. Forward Alert (FA) offers an audible and visual warning when there’s a risk of colliding with the vehicle in front. At the same time, Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) prepares the brakes to facilitate full braking performance by increasing pressure within the brake system.

Intelligent Protection System

Should there be any unwelcome surprises, Ford Galaxy’s Intelligent Protection System (IPS) is ready to respond in an instant. A comprehensive airbag system includes driver’s and front passenger’s airbag* and side airbags, as well as first, second and third row side curtain airbags. And Ford Galaxy now also comes with an innovative driver’s knee bolster airbag.

Three-point seat belt pre-tensioners work in harmony with the airbag system, while a steel safety cage, side impact door beams and collapsible steering column and pedals deliver the ultimate protection in the event of an impact. For your little travellers, Ford Galaxy comes with ISOFIX child seat attachments.

The Ford Galaxy builds on Ford’s established reputation for safety and security for your peace of mind and is expected to record a first class performance in the Euro NCAP crash tests.

*A child seat should never be placed in the front passenger seat when the Ford vehicle is equipped with an operational front passenger’s airbag. The safest place for children is properly restrained on the second row seats.

Electronic Stability Programme (ESP)
ESP is designed to detect and automatically compensate for loss of control under extreme conditions, using brakes and throttle to keep the vehicle firmly on track.

Hill Launch Assist (optional)
After releasing the brake pedal when stationary, the system keeps the wheels braked, leaving you enough time to move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator without the car rolling backwards.
