High quality components for a variety of uses
Ford has long been involved in the supply of components to the automotive industry, with one of the earliest examples being Morgan Cars in 1933. That tradition exists today through Ford Component Sales Ltd. (FCS), based in Warley.

FCS is best-known for business dealings with leading specialist automotive manufacturers such as Morgan, Caterham, Ginetta and Westfield, and major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) within the agricultural, construction, municipal and off-highway market sectors.

FCS is diversifying even further to encompass OEMs and companies building vehicles designed for zero, or reduced, carbon emissions, such as Wrightbus, Modec and Smiths Electric Vehicles, to comply with existing and future environmental requirements.
Current product range
We offer powertrains, transmissions and other key components to a wide range of industries, many of which are finding very innovative uses for them – as you’ll see below.

The portfolio of powertrains includes products and technologies from various divisions of the Ford Global organisation. Engine capacities range from 1.4-litre to 9.0-litre with I4, I5, I6, V6, and V8 configurations. Fuel capabilities within the current range include petrol, diesel, flexifuel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The majority of the units comply with current automotive emission certification* to Euro3, or Euro4 or Euro5 and current noise level regulations.

Manual and automatic transmissions are available as five and six speed including front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive versions.

In addition to supplying powertrain components, FCS can supply any Ford Group component for use in the OEM sector, whether it be for the automotive, or the industrial sector where customers manufacturing agricultural, construction, municipal and off-highway equipment demand quality components for their products.
Other applications
The range of business does not end with established automotive and industrial customers as FCS has created a niche market for Ford components in many extraordinary specialist industrial applications, such as a Fiesta air vent integrated into a work desk that has a built-in air purification system, or a Mondeo door lock as an integral part of the cabinet of an ice cream dispensing machine.

The reasoning behind this is simple economics; it makes sense for low-volume manufacturers to employ the resources of a global giant by dipping into is extensive parts bin for appropriate powertrain and components.

It means that design and development costs are kept to a minimum as they do not have to be designed from scratch, plus reliability and quality at competitive prices are assured.

Furthermore FCS ready-made solutions get new products to market much faster!
