Ford Motor Company has announced that the new Focus ECOnetic, debuting at the Amsterdam Motor Show, will establish a new industry benchmark for fuel efficiency in the popular compact class.

Ford's top-selling vehicle range maintained its clear sales lead of the UK market during March's changeover to the "11" plate.

Despite government confirmation of extra funding to fix Britain's roads, Ford will continue to ensure the toughness and durability of the suspension systems on all its cars and vans – without sacrificing the rewarding driving experience that defines Ford vehicles.

Ford welcomed Vince Cable MP, the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, to its high-tech engine plant in Bridgend, Wales as part of a regional fact-finding tour.
