To book a 24 hour test drive online, company car drivers need to meet the following basic requirements:
  • The 24 hour test drive is open to company car drivers who will replace their car in the next 6 months. We reserve the right to check your entitlement for a test drive with your company.
  • Drivers must be aged between 25 and 60.
  • All test drives are for up to 24 hours.
  • We will make every effort to supply the vehicle you request however, not all Ford vehicles are available under this programme. If the vehicle you request is not available we will offer an alternative.
  • Driving Licence and Credit Card details will be required at the time of booking and the start of the hire.
  • You will be required to cover incidental costs of fuel, penalty fines, congestion charges etc.

Company Car Driver Test Drive – Terms & Conditions

How long is the test drive?
The test drive period is up to 24 hours from the time of vehicle collection.
The mileage allowance for the test drive is 200 miles, mileage exceeding 200 miles will be charged at 10 pence plus VAT per mile.

Who can participate?
The Company Car Driver Test Drive is open to all Company Car Drivers who will replace their current company car within the next 6 months. Drivers will be able to test drive twice within this period. Drivers must posses a valid credit/debit card and a current EU driving licence which has been valid for at least one year. Drivers must be aged over 25. Ford Motor Company Limited ("Ford") reserves the right to contact a nominated person at your employer to confirm your eligibility for test drive. Ford can decline any test drive request at its sole discretion.

Availability
Test drives are subject to availability. Not all Ford Models, derivatives or engines will be available for test drives. Transit, Connect, Fiesta Van, Ranger and Focus RS are excluded. Ford will endeavour to provide Drivers with their vehicle of choice, however, this may not be possible, in these instances the Driver will be offered an alternative. Vehicles will only be supplied within normal working hours. Test Drive vehicles cannot be taken abroad.

Process
At least 10 working days prior notice should be given for a test drive. Test drives will be requested via ford.co.uk and coordinated by the Ford Rental Booking team. All Drivers will be required to provide details of their driving licences and credit/debit cards at the time of booking the test drive.

Delivery and return
Delivery and collection will take place between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays. Vehicles will be collected from the appropriate Ford Rental Location or if agreed at the time of booking, can be delivered to a home or work address, if delivered, the vehicle must be collected from the same address.

Upon collection the Driver will be required to present their driving licence (in the case of non photocard driving licences, please bring with you some form of photo identification) and to sign a dealer rental agreement setting out further terms and conditions. All Drivers should check the condition of the vehicle upon collection and return and note any defects on the vehicle condition report, plus applicable fuel levels. The vehicle must be returned at the agreed collection time. If the vehicle is not available for collection at the agreed collection time Ford allows 59 minutes grace period for late returns, after which time Ford reserves the right to charge the Driver the applicable daily rental rate for that type of vehicle including, if necessary a deduction from the Driver's credit/debit card account.

Vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel as noted on the delivery sheet. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the Driver will be charged for the variance plus a £6.50 plus VAT handling fee.

Aborted delivery and collection
In the event that the supplying location has set off to deliver a vehicle at any time up to 2 working hours prior to the requested vehicle time, and the vehicle is subsequently cancelled, the Company Car Driver may be liable for an abortive delivery charge. If the driver is not available at the delivery address at a pre-specified delivery time, the supplying location will wait a maximum of 15 minutes. After this time, they will return to the supplying location and abortive charges will apply. Ford Motor Company reserves the right if necessary to make a deduction from the drivers credit/debit card account.

Insurance
Insurance on the vehicle is provided for the driver plus one nominated driver. All persons must satisfy the insurance criteria, provide a driving license and sign a separate dealer rental agreement. The insurance provided covers that test drive vehicle and any third party liability only and excludes personal injury, personal effect, goods in transit, damage to windscreens and glass. Insurance cover explicitly excludes racing, pacemaking, reliability trials, speed testing, off-road use, use while towing a greater number of trailers than is permitted by law or use for hire or reward. Use of the vehicle for any such purpose is strictly prohibited. The Driver is responsible for a £500 plus VAT excess on all claims. Any damage incurred through Driver negligence shall be the responsibility of the Driver, and Ford reserves the right to charge for any such damage, including by means of a deduction from the Driver's credit/debit card account. An administration fee of £40 plus VAT will be charged against any claim.

Any property carried or left in the vehicle is at the Driver's own risk. Drivers must ensure that any personal belongings are removed from the vehicle at the end of the loan, as Ford will not be held liable for any loss or damage.

Loss or damage (salvage)
Title and salvage to all vehicles supplied under this programme remain at all times with Ford or the supplying dealer.

Condition
Drivers should take good care of the vehicle and return it in the same condition as when delivered. No accessories or parts are to be removed from or affixed to the vehicle. If any damage is noted upon delivery or collection, please ensure that it is marked clearly on the delivery/collection document. If the weather is unsuitable for an appropriate inspection, please note this on the form. Ford may recharge the Driver for any damage and/or missing items that were not identified on the initial delivery document by means of a debit from their credit/debit card.

Fines etc.
The Driver will be responsible for payment of any Congestion Charges and fixed penalty fines incurred during the test drive, for example, parking or speeding fines or Congestion Charges. Where any such fine is not paid promptly by the Driver, Ford will pay such fine and the Driver will pay Ford the amount of the fine plus an administration fee of £25.00 plus VAT.

The Driver's credit/debit card account number is given to Ford for the purpose of allowing payment to Ford of any fines or administration charges mentioned in theses Terms and Conditions, including the cost of any fuel needed to refill the vehicle upon collection. This does not preclude Ford from seeking to recover any such charges by other means. It is acknowledged and accepted that Ford will comply with its legal duties including but not limited to Section 172 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and shall provide information (including the supply of the Driver's name and address) in response to any request from police and other relevant authorities for the purposes of identifying the user of a vehicle at a particular date and time in respect to any alleged speeding/parking fines; penalties and motoring offences and Congestion Charges.
