New, improved Telematics with special capabilities

You can now use our new, advanced Ford Fleet Telematics system, to enable your operation to become more business and cost efficient.

This easy-to-use, internet-based system (powered by Cybit) gives you real-time information on your fleet, along with detailed reports on areas such as vehicle utilisation, journey details and mileage.

You can use this knowledge to achieve:
  • Operational cost reductions in fuel and vehicle mileage, and possibly through benefits such as access to accurate information about hours worked
  • Increased productivity through improved vehicle utilisation and manpower
  • Compliance with Duty of Care legislation and environmental policies

For managers of commercial vehicle fleets, the system  has special benefits. You can receive real-time vehicle-based information from the latest Transit and Transit Connect in your fleet, such as odometer readings and instrument panel warnings, so you can see how the vehicle is being driven at any given time.

What Ford Fleet Telematics can do for your business
There are two kinds of information Ford Fleet Telematics offers you: location-based and vehicle-based information.
 
Location-based information lets you monitor every journey
Thanks to an unobtrusive GPS device in each vehicle, you can receive positioning information in real time.

That way, you can tell if one of your drivers has been at the wheel for too long without a break, for example. This real-time visibility helps you with your Duty of Care commitment towards your drivers. Our Telematics fleet management service, on the other hand, provides you with detailed email reports on your fleet.

Reports can cover each vehicle, a group, or a depot even, using text or graphics. They give you accurate management information, such as journey details, mileage and vehicle utilisation, which can help you make your fleet more efficient.

The Ford Fleet Telematics system comes with a three year warranty when installed in your new Ford vehicles, or with a 12-month warranty for any other current fleet vehicle.
 
Exclusive vehicle-based info lets you know how your vehicles are being driven
If you purchase the latest Ford Transit or Transit Connect for your fleet, you’ll be able to tell if these vehicles are being driven harshly or uneconomically.

That’s because we provide Cybit with CanBus coding for these models. It allows you to receive information including the odometer reading, fuel consumption, harsh braking, harsh acceleration and excessive revving, as well as key instrument panel warnings, such as airbag, oil pressure or ignition warnings.
 
How the system works
An unobtrusive GPS device is located inside each of your Ford fleet vehicles. This gives real-time positioning information that can be combined with vehicle management data from CanBus, when installed in the latest Transit or Transit Connect.

This is then sent via O2’s GPRS network to the Cybit analysis centre. Here it is converted into the precise strategic reports you need to help with your business planning.

All the information, both real-time visualisation and historical analysis, is then accessible via the internet.
