The Rear View Camera displays whatever’s behind you on a screen built into your rear view mirror. As well as showing you things you might miss, virtual lines guide you into the smallest of spaces. For added convenience, the Rear View Camera activates automatically when you select reverse gear.

Optional Parking Distance Sensors help you judge the distance between your car and any obstacle, in front or behind you. They set off an audible warning that intensifies, the closer you get. The feature is designed to help you park quickly and confidently.

You can set the Fiesta’s speed using steering wheel-mounted toggles. The system then maintains that speed, so there’s no need to keep your foot on the accelerator. To go faster or slower, you simply use the same manual controls.

The Fiesta has electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) that automatically adjusts to suit the situation. So if you’re driving in the city, travelling at low speeds or parking, the system makes wheel turns feel lighter and easier to give you greater manoeuvrability. At higher speeds, EPAS makes the steering firmer to deliver more control and confidence.

Unlike most systems, which are continuously on, EPAS only activates when needed. So it uses less energy, further improving fuel economy.

You can control your music, make or take calls and adjust the in-car temperature (if optional Electronic Automatic Temperature Control is fitted), just by using your voice. This means you don’t have to take your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road. Using a Bluetooth® connection, you can also stream music wirelessly from an iPod or mobile phone to your car radio.

You can connect devices without Bluetooth® functionality using the Fiesta’s USB port, a jack or Y-cable. This means you can play MP3 music files on a memory stick, iPod or other MP3 player, through the vehicle’s audio system. To control your music, there are handy toggles on the steering wheel.

It’s not always easy to notice when daylight is fading. But the Fiesta has sensors that detect failing light and trigger the auto-headlights to turn themselves on. This makes driving at dusk easier and safer. They also turn on automatically when you enter a tunnel. Auto-headlights are available as an option with rain-sensing wipers (see above).

To avoid accidental damage, optional power-foldable mirrors automatically fold inwards when the car is locked (or when you use the mirror adjustment switch). When tucked back, they also protect the stylish integrated indicators.

When you arrive home at night, you just flash the left stalk and Fiesta’s Home Safe headlights will stay on for a while, lighting the way to your front door. So there’s no more tripping over unseen obstacles or navigating puddles in the dark. The feature is standard across the whole range.

Your Ford Direct car comes with a two-year comprehensive unlimited mileage warranty included in the price. This means it’s covered against failure due to manufacturing or material defects in most original specification components, and there are no limits on the number of claims you can make.

Ford Assistance covers most European destinations and is valid 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All Ford Direct cars come with two-years' Ford Assistance which provides roadside assistance, assistance at home and vehicle recovery. If you bought your car on finance, you’ll need to settle the balance with the finance company when you make the exchange, and sign a new finance agreement. If for any reason you wish to change your Ford Direct vehicle, you may exchange it once within the first 30 days or 1,000 miles (whichever is sooner) as long as it is:

• Returned to the Dealer you bought it from
• The same vehicle that was sold to you (including tyres and options etc)
• In the same condition as sold
• Exchanged for another car of the same or higher price

• Your car complies with its original new Ford specification, including tool kit, spare keys and service pack
• Any replacement items are Ford approved and comply with your vehicle’s original specification
• Your car has a full service history, as recommended in the Ford Service Plan

To make sure your new car has not been ‘clocked’, we check all Ford Direct vehicles on the National Mileage Register before we offer them for sale. Your car will also have been given a comprehensive HPI check to ensure there is no outstanding finance due. And for extra reassurance, we check to ensure your car has never been written off and is not currently reported to the police as lost or stolen.

Once they’ve passed our rigorous tests and checks, all Ford Direct cars are issued with a tamperproof windscreen hologram. So you can be confident that your car meets our strict standards and is backed by a comprehensive package of benefits.

Before we offer your car for sale, we subject it to a rigorous examination. We check inside, outside, under the bonnet and the underneath of every single Ford Direct vehicle – we even scrutinise the tool kit in the boot. Once a vehicle has passed our initial examination, it goes through the Ford used car reconditioning process, where any prior noted imperfections are corrected. Next, we submit the car for an independent RAC inspection. Once it has passed, it’s issued with an RAC approved certificate containing details such as model, chassis number, registration number and mileage.
Once vehicles have been assessed, road tested and passed by the RAC engineer, they are given a thorough valet, to add the finishing touch.
Finally, we issue the car with our Ford Direct security windscreen hologram – so you can be sure your purchase comes with complete peace of mind.
