Safety and security
A Transit Minibus can cover huge distances every year so keeping passengers safe and secure at all times is of paramount importance.
Security alarms
You can rest easy, no matter where you park your Minibus. Transit features:

• Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) disables the engine when your key isn’t in the ignition. The engine only primes when you use an ignition key with the unique code recognised by the PATS system
• High-security shielded locks with strengthened mountings to prevent lock tampering
• Unique lock-in-latch door lock system eliminates cables and rods between the lock and latch
• Central locking, key-operated bonnet release and locking fuel cap to thwart potential thieves
• Shielded spare wheel support
• Visible Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
Passenger safety
Transit Minibus has a high level of structural crash integrity to absorb and channel crash energy away from all occupants. We have also strengthened the front seat pedestal to offer improved occupant restraint.

Driver’s and front passenger airbags are fitted as standard and to help protect the most precious of cargoes.

However long the journey, all your passengers can relax in comfortable and supportive seats, safe in the knowledge that they are protected by individually height-adjustable head restraints and 3-point lap and diagonal seat belts.

For additional passenger safety, there’s an Emergency Safety Pack, which includes a first aid kit, fire extinguisher and emergency door decals on all M2 Minibuses.
Driving safety
Work is hard enough, so Transit Minibus is designed to be as easy and safe to operate and drive as possible.

There are four-wheel disc braking system with anti-lock brakes (ABS) and Brake-force distribution (BD) which combine automatically to provide the correct balance of brake-force between front and rear wheels. This helps prevent the rear wheels from locking-up, particularly when driving laden.

Handling is further enhanced with standard Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) (not available on AWD). This automatically adjusts power and braking, keeping the vehicle on the right track. Vehicles with ESP also have Hill Launch Assist (HLA), an industry first, as standard – making it easier to pull away on a slope as there’s no need to use the handbrake.

And finally, Transit Minibus also has a Brake Traction Control System (BTCS) which helps avoid wheelspin when pulling away, particularly advantageous when you’ve two wheels on a grass verge.
Optional cruise control
Controlled from two switches mounted on an exclusive four-spoke leather steering wheel, cruise control makes travelling long distances so much more relaxing.

Cruise control is fitted as standard on Transit Trend, and an option on other series.
