Transit Connect interior
Technical highlights
We have designed Transit Connect to be car-like in many ways. The combination of impressive driving dynamics and a refined interior, with many standard features and enhanced levels of comfort, ensures that daily driving is less tiring and stressful.

Satellite Navigation

The intuitive system will help you get from A to B efficiently, saving you time and money.

Load box
Transit Connect has been designed to maximise your payload by having a long, wide loadbox with flat sides. Whether you are carrying goods, work materials or tools, it provides a large, flexible load area. The wide-opening rear doors allow easier accessibility and the width between the rear wheel arches means there’s room for two Europallets, while a loadspace floor mat helps protect the interior from damage. Built-in DIN compliant features, such as the folding mesh bulkhead and tie-down eyes, will keep your load safely anchored when you’re on the move.
Fold-flat passenger seat
A clever, fold-flat front passenger seat means that longer and more awkward loads can be carried inside. This means they’re protected from the elements – and from potential theft. In the LWB version you can accommodate ladders, timber joists and even 3-metre lengths of piping.
Side load doors
To ensure you can reach every corner of the loadspace, and to prevent damage to your vehicle or those around you when unloading in a tight space, Transit Connect comes with a standard passenger side sliding load door and the option of dual side sliding load door (glazed or unglazed).
A solid design
We’ve designed Transit Connect to survive the cut and thrust of today’s roads by incorporating outstanding vehicle and occupant safety. Using advanced computer modelling, we have developed a body structure that combines energy-absorbing crumple zones with a rigid shell. There is also a range of bulkhead options from full width, to full height mesh, most of which are DIN compliant. And there’s a standard wraparound driver bulkhead that comes with the standard fold-flat passenger seat, to ensure maximum occupant protection.

Under the dynamic body shell, and inside both front doors, there are high-strength steel beams that help prevent intrusion in a side impact. There is also a boron steel cross-member behind the front bumper, designed to absorb and safely channel crash energy away from the occupants.
