Technical highlights

There are a wealth of innovative safety features and driving technologies incorporated into Tourneo Connect that will benefit both you and your passengers. New to the Ford Tourneo Connect is Electronic Stability Programme (ESP). This monitors and, if necessary, modulates individual wheels for smoother handling on all road conditions.

Electronic Stability Programme (ESP)

Handling is further enhanced on Tourneo Connect with Electronic Stability Programme (ESP). This automatically adjusts power and braking keeping the vehicle on the right track. Also vehicles with ESP also feature;

• Electronic brake-force distribution (EBD)
• Drag torque control – this is used in snowy conditions and raises the torque of the engine to assist acceleration
• AYC (Active Yaw Control) – this assists with under steer and over steer
• Traction Control System (TCS)
• Hill Launch Assist (HLA)
• Electronic Brake Light (EBL) where the hazards flash upon hard braking

Hill Launch Assist (HLA)

HLA is standard and makes it easier to pull away on a slope as there’s no need to use the handbrake.

Anti-lock braking system (ABS)

ABS ensures the wheels won’t lock when you brake. This helps prevent skidding and loss of directional control if you have to brake when cornering, or if you need to make an emergency stop.

Electronic brake-force distribution (EBD)

EBD balances the braking force independently across all four wheels. This gives you more stable braking and can result in shorter stopping distances.

Traction Control System (TCS)

TCS works with your engine and transmission to help prevent front wheel spin and, under more extreme conditions, reduces it significantly.

Bluetooth®* with Voice Control

Bluetooth®* with Voice Control technology allows you to adjust various functions without taking your eyes from the road, or hand from the wheel. For instance, you can make and receive calls on your mobile, change stations on the radio, CD track and even control the optional DVD navigation system, just by using voice commands.

Air conditioning

To ensure that your passengers stay cool and calm whatever the weather or traffic is doing outside, air conditioning is available as an option on all models.

Electrically-operated front windows

With the higher levels of concentration needed to drive safely on the roads today, we have introduced as many features of convenience to help you keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel. Electrically-operated front windows are fitted as standard on all models.

Quickclear heated front screen and heated washer jets

To give you more time in bed and less time clearing your windscreen on icy mornings, we have fitted Quickclear with heated washer jets on Tourneo Connect Trend It takes just seconds to appreciate how quickly the inside is demisted and the outside is de-iced.

Electrically-operated and heated door mirrors

The convenience of electrically-operated door mirrors is obvious, but when it’s icy outside you will really appreciate being able to pull away and see exactly what’s coming up behind you in your door mirrors.

Power-assisted steering makes it instantly responsive to your touch, while the rigid body shell, front and rear anti-roll bars plus front stabiliser bars ensure impressive roadholding.
