Attention to detail in the design process has increased the durability of components and made them easier to access and repair. Here are some of the things that have increased durability:
 
• 8-year corrosion protection: achieved by increasing the number of pre-coated panels in the lower body structure, introducing a PVC coating on the underside of the vehicle and protecting the vehicle side rails with a wax coating
• ‘Smart’ starting system on both TDCi vehicles: monitors the engine speed during cranking and disengages the starter motor as soon as the engine is able to run by itself

• Re-designing key areas and components: including the bonnet and bumper position as well as the front lights
• Combining design with practicality: the positioning of the wheel arches ensures that the wheels are protected against scrape damage

An easily-accessible spare wheel and vehicle jack are included to ensure that the process can be managed quickly and efficiently.
