Ford Fold Flat System (FFS)
Folding second and third row seats - second row seats give extra flexibility by being able to tilt and adjust forwards and backwards.
Bluetooth®* with Voice Control
Use your voice to control different entertainment and information systems, as well as making hands-free phone calls from your mobile phone.
Rain-sensing wipers and auto-headlights
Let the S-MAX take care of the wipers and lights. They spring into action automatically to ensure your driving safety and convenience.

Halogen Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS)
With AFS, the cornering lights swivel to the left or right by up to 15˚ according to your speed and the angle of the steering wheel. So, as you turn the wheel, the dipped lights swivel to illuminate the road as you take the corner. This boosts forward visibility through bends and creates a safer driving environment. Integrated cornering lights are activated when you turn the steering wheel 30°. These give even more light on sharper bends, to help you avoid any potential problems around the next corner.

Mobile Navigation
Turn your Bluetooth®-enabled mobile smart phone (mobile phone not included) into a navigation unit. Simply insert the navigation chip, enter your journey details and the phone will transmit route data to the car’s audio system (available in combination with Sony DAB Audio systems).

Winner in large MPV category – Ford S-MAX
Backed by Thatcham, the Department for Transport, UK Insurers and supported by the Home Office, the Awards rated vehicles according to their resistance to theft and break-ins. The S-MAX achieved the highest score with Ford Galaxy a close second - scooping the key awards in the highly competitive large MPV category.

We are always striving to improve what we do and the way we do it. In the face of climate change – a global challenge – our drive and pace of innovation has never been so important.
That’s why we’re developing a range of highly-advanced vehicles that have less impact on the environment. All S-MAX vehicles use low-viscosity transmission oil developed by our fuel partner, BP. Meanwhile, our Flexifuel engines offer a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions by running on bioethanol E85 or normal unleaded petrol – or any mixture of the two.
At the same time, we are reducing emissions on all our engines. The 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCI diesel engines offer a choice of two power outputs, manual or automatic, with the manual engine emitting 159 g/km of CO2.
